Is it possible for someone to rise from the dead? Before meeting Harmschapel’s undertaker Patrick Coopland, Detective Sergeant Blake Harte would most certainly have thought not. However, when Coopland is killed in a car crash on the way home with his wife, Angela, she becomes convinced that her mentally abusive husband is still haunting her from beyond the grave. The day after Coopland’s funeral, Angela reports her most terrifying encounter yet, forcing Blake and the rest of Harmschapel police to open the grave of Patrick Coopland to prove once and for all that he has been laid to rest.

But what they find in Coopland’s grave sets into motion a case that will require Blake’s lateral thinking in ways he has never had to use before, but his mind is far from on the job.
